HR3200- The Unehalthy Security Health Act of 2009

I just read in the Morning Bell from Heritage.com that Obama had a phone conference with bloggers urging them to contact congress to pass this BOGUS health care reform bill.

"During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10)

The answer is YES, it is true, SEC. 102. PROTECTING THE CHOICE TO KEEP CURRENT COVERAGE, reads, "

(1) LIMITATION ON NEW ENROLLMENT-

    (A) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.

So, when Congress blindly passes this bill and Obama signs it. Your choice will be protected to the single payer/ universal plan/ government sponsored system.

This is such bad policy it is unthinkable that it is even being considered by Congress. It violates our Constitution, health care is not an inalienable right. It takes away your freedom to choose- whether you want health care & who provides that health care.

Health Insurance should be- PERSONAL- PORTABLE- PRIVATE- PROTECTED from Government interference.
Take the tax credits given large companies away and given them to the people so they can make their own choices and tailor the policy they want to the cost they can afford.
Reform tort law- Limit/ cap the compensation/ punitive damages that can be awarded, this will reduce malpractice insurance- Reducing health costs DRAMATICALLY
Establish minimum health care standards- You can't be dropped due to illness; A spouse or dependent can't be denied due to pre-existing conidtions; Catastrophic health costs are limited to the person to avoid bankruptcy and paid by the insurance companies.
There are so many better ways to reform health care without giving control of 1/3 of our economy to the federal government, keeping health decisions between the doctor and patient and reducing costs, that we need to stop this bill NOW!!!!
